Dwight D. Boyd, O.D.
Dr. Dwight "Durann" Boyd has been serving patients in the North Metro Atlanta area since early 1991. His commitment to offer the finest eyecare experience possible continued in 1994 when he established North Point Eyecare in Alpharetta, Georgia and with the opening of Eye Q Vision Center of Cumming, Ga. in 2007.
Dr. Boyd is well prepared to see and treat most clinical challenges in the primary eyecare realm as his training included multiple clinical settings such as referral-based optometry while working ophthalmologists at an eye surgical center in Memphis, Tennessee. |
He has been certified by the National Board of Optometry for the treatment and management of ocular disease, including additional certification in ocular disease and glaucoma in the states of Georgia, Tennessee and Mississippi. His special interests include treating and managing glaucoma patients and fitting keratoconus and multifocal specialty contact lenses.
He has established himself as a referral-based consulting optometrist providing primary eyecare services treating ocular disease in multiple Georgia Correctional Institutions while contracting with Medical College of Georgia/GCHC. Sharing his practice knowledge with his peers, Dr. Boyd has lectured to the professional staff concerning eye care management, and has been called on by the Georgia Secretary of State's office to help assist in the development of new standards for the State Optometric Board examination.
Dr. Boyd is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Georgia Optometric Association, Emory Vision Correction Center, The Laser Center, and an affiliate member of Omni Eye Services, and Woolfson Eye Institute.
Personally, he has been married to the former Miss Diane Cutshall of Iuka, Mississippi. He actively serves on the Board of Helping Hands Foreign Missions providing free medical care to those less privileged around the world. He has spent several years volunteering in various civic and church groups, and continues to commit his time to serving locally in a weekly children's Bible study program. In addition to volunteering, his hobbies include spending time with family, reading, and in his spare time sailing or boating on Lake Sidney Lanier.

Douglas D. Boyd, O.D.
Dr. Douglas D. Boyd (Dr. Doug) is the second generation Optometrist in the Boyd family practice at Eye Q Vision Care. Dr. Doug grew up in his father's family practice and served as an optician and practice manager prior to his optometric education.
Dr. Doug graduated from the University of North Georgia with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology. He graduated summa cum laude with a Doctorate of Optometry from the Kentucky College of Optometry. He trained with local surgeons at Woolfson Eye Institute and Omni Eye Services in Atlanta during his education. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association. |
Dr. Doug's clinical services include: comprehensive routine eye care, treatment and management of ocular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, dry eyes, vision therapy, and binocular vision disorders.
Personally, Dr. Doug resides in Forsyth County, Georgia with his wife, Hannah, and their two sons. In his free time, he enjoys spending time on Lake Lanier, being outdoors, hunting, and playing baseball with his boys.
